Lia Sophia Answers to Your Most Asked Questions

As a lia Sophia advisor, I’ve noticed women have a difficult time finding useful information regarding their questions about the opportunity.  So I’ve compiled commonly asked lia Sophia questions, along with my real-life experience answers.  If you have a question I haven’t answered here, please feel free to contact me.

How much Money do Advisor’s make?

Advisors make 30% commission on what they sell.  So, if you had a $1000 show, you would keep $300 of it.

How much Money do Managers make?

Managers earn 40% commission of what they sell.  So, if you had a $1000 show, you would keep $400.  You also earn 10% on what your team sells!  And, you earn 5% on any of your advisors that promote to Unit Manager.

How are you paid?

You turn in all money to lia Sophia, and then lia Sophia pays you via Direct Deposit on a WEEKLY basis.  Yes, you get paid weekly!

Is there a Minimum Requirement to Stay Active?

Yes, you must do $250 in sales every three months to stay active.  (But seriously, you can do that with one catalog show!)

What Does Lia Sophia’s Career Ladder look like?

1. Advisor

2. Unit Manager

3. Division Manager

4. Region Manager

5. Zone Manager

As an advisor, you must have sales of $250 every three months to remain active.

To become a Unit Manager, you must have 4 active advisors on your team, average $2000 in personal sales per month, and average $7000 in total personal group sales per month from the previous four months (your personal sales count toward this number, as well).

To become a Division Manager, you must have two qualified Unit Managers in your first line, have an average of $1000 in personal sales per month, an average of $7000 in total personal group sales per month, and an average of $25,000 in total group recognition sales per month from the previous six months.

To become a Region Manager, you must have two qualified Division Managers in your first line, have an average of $500 in personal sales per month, an average of $25,000 personal group recognition sales, and an average of $100,000 total group recognition sales per month from the previous six months.

To become a Zone Manager, you must have two qualified Region Managers in your first line, have an average of $100,000 in personal group recognition sales, and have an average of $400,000 in total group recognition sales per month from the previous 12 months.  Notice that no personal sales are required of a Zone Manager.

What Rewards Can I Earn as an Advisor?

Just to name a few… FREE jewelry, recruiting rewards such as cash, jewelry display cases, luggage, IPods, tail-gating kits (lots of fun!), sales awards such as cash, great supplies for your jewelry shows, jewelry premiums, and more.

But perhaps the BEST reward you can earn as an advisor is the annual VACATION!  In 2009, advisors are sailing away on a Caribbean cruise.  In 2010, advisors will enjoy the sunny beaches of Cancun!  And it is ALL paid for—airfare, room, meals, 24/7 room service, entertainment, and more.

To earn a trip for one, advisors must have $25,000 in personal sales and $25,000 in new advisor sales in one year.  To earn a trip for two, advisors must have $45,000 in personal sales and $45,000 in new advisor sales in one year.  She must also have at least three qualified new advisors.  A qualified new advisor must have at least 3 shows in her first 5 weeks of business totaling $1500 in sales.

What is Lia Sophia’s Show Average?

I’ve heard different numbers.  It is anywhere from $600 to $750.  Personally, I think the $600 is most accurate.  However, I typically have one or two shows per month that are $1000 shows.  Those are such fun!  Great money!

Do I have to carry Inventory?

No, in fact, lia Sophia doesn’t want you to carry inventory.  When you place a show order, you can have it directly shipped to the hostess.  Then you have no deliveries to make and no sorting through the order.

You simply display samples of the jewelry at the show and customers order the styles they like.  From the time you place the show order, it typically takes less than a week for it to arrive at the hostess’ door step.

Are Team Meetings Mandatory?

It all depends on what your manager chooses to do.  Most of the time, they are not mandatory.  However, if you are able, I encourage you to attend them.  They provide a means for you to learn from other women, share your experiences, and gain support.

I signed up with an advisor in another state and am too far away to attend her meetings.  Because of that, I’ve personally never attended meetings.  If I had the opportunity, I would love to.  Don’t feel that your success hinges upon your ability to attend these meetings, though.  I have been successful and haven’t attended a single meeting.

It is important, however, to stay in close contact with your manager.  She can help guide you to success.

How Do I Place an Order?  Is it Manual or on the Computer?

Placing orders is simple.  When placing an order, you simply go to lia sophia’s website, click on Advisor Advantage, log in with your username and password, go to Ordering, and put the order in.  I was amazed at how easy it really is.

You can even put in credit and debit cards online and they are immediately processed at no charge to you.  This is a great feature.

What if I Quit?

You simply quit!  You keep your starter kit and jewelry.  No risk.

You can be inactive one time.  After that, you must wait one year to sign up again with lia Sophia.

Do I have to do Jewelry Shows or can I just take up catalog orders?

You don’t have to do jewelry shows.  If you’re signing up simply because you like the jewelry and want a great discount on it, you can take up catalog orders and maintain your active status by doing $250 in sales every 3 months.

However, if you plan on moving up the career ladder, you should do shows as much as possible to continue to make contacts, meet new people, see new faces, and make connections.  There is no better contact than personal contact.

How Many Shows Should I do per week or month?

If you want to do lia Sophia as a hobby, you can do whatever makes you happy.  Once a week, once a month… whatever works for you.  As long as you do $250 in sales every 3 months, you will remain active.

However, if you want to become a unit manager, I’ve heard several women in lia Sophia advise doing at least two shows per week.  The reason for this is so that you see more people and make more contacts.  The more contacts you make, the greater the chance you’ll have someone interested in the opportunity.  And the more shows you do, the higher your personal sales will be.

I personally strive to do two to three shows per week.  In addition, you’re making more money!  That’s always a plus!

What Training is Available to Advisors?

Lia Sophia offers online training courses, recorded training from previous courses, live training at events called Reach Out Events, and training at Conference.  Perhaps the best training you can receive, though, is through your manager.  She’s been there and done that, and she’s been successful.

Online training courses include: Booking with Confidence, Can You Cancun, Fashionably Yours: Spring/Summer Trends, I’m a Unit Manager: Now What, Lia Sophia Live: Bookings, Lia Sophia Live: Recruiting, Love Story Recruiting Interview, Maximizing New Line Tools, Maximizing Your Sales Reports, and Recruiting 101.

Reach Out Events occur in cities across the United States, and they provide a day of training to advisors.  Area managers are present to share their experiences with you and you get the opportunity to see the jewelry you may not have seen just yet.  And you get a chance to meet others!

How Many Advisors are Out There?

This is the best part!  We are growing!  In my home state of Kentucky, the last count was a little under 300 advisors, including a handful of unit managers, 2 division managers, and 1 region manager.  Talk about room for growth!  That is AWESOME!

A great company with great room for growth.  I love telling new advisors that we’ll be like the old, wealthy Mary Kay ladies.  They got in during a time of explosive growth and look at them now!

If you’d like to know more about the numbers in your state, you may contact me at 270.590.2627 and I’ll be happy to get those to you.

How Much is the Starter Kit?

The starter kit is normally $149 plus tax and shipping.  In January, the starter kit is typically on sale for $124 ($25 off).  It ships to you within 10 days, sometimes less.

Some advisors offer specials and/or coupons for a certain percentage off the starter kit or a program that allows you to be reimbursed for your starter kit.  To see my specials, go to: http://www.merchantcircle.com/business/Lia.Sophia.Jewelry.270-590-2627

What is in the Starter Kit?

The contents of the starter kit include: jewelry kit bag, two jewelry display trays (one inch), 20 current catalogs, 200 invitations, a quick start guide, a ring sizer, 6 hostess envelopes, a display cloth, 50 wish lists, 12 hostess selection and order summary sheets, 12 guest lists, and 50 customer selection tickets. And, 24 pieces of jewelry valued at over $1000. The supplies are enough to last you three to six shows. The jewelry you get in the kit is more than worth the $149 cost of the kit.

How Much do Supplies Cost?

Catalogs are normally $6.50 for a package of ten. During the two months prior to the new catalogs coming out, lia Sophia typically offers a buy one package, get one package free special. (There are two catalogs per year, one every six months; 30% of jewelry is taken out and 30% new jewelry is added.)
Invitations are $3.00 for a package of 100. You can get them for $2.00 most of the time, however. A stock list is only 25 cents. Drawing slip pads for craft shows and fairs, etc are $3.00 for 500 slips. Hostess and customer wish lists are $2.00 for a pad of 50. Guest lists are $3.75 for a package of 12 (I make my own). Customer selection tickets are $2.75 for a set of 50.

Supplies are very affordable through lia Sophia.  This is important, as well.  The less your supplies cost, the more profit you get to keep.

Is the Product Good Quality?

Yes, yes, yes!  The jewelry is awesome!  You cannot sell something you don’t like or don’t approve of the quality.  This jewelry is worth selling.

I was previously involved in a direct selling company that sold a product that was not good quality.  It was a bad experience.  I ended up quitting within six months.  I didn’t like the product.  And if you don’t like product, it’s nearly impossible to sell it to someone else.

The silver jewelry is plated in Rhodium—a metal that doesn’t need polishing to keep it’s shine.  Barack Obama recently gifted his wife with a ring plated in Rhodium for her patience during his campaign efforts.  The metal is becoming more and more popular.  The gold jewelry is plated in 14-24 karat gold.

Who Should I Sign Up With?

Sign up with someone committed to lia Sophia and who has a track record of success.  If she is successful, she can teach you to be successful.  And success is what you want.

She should be successful with teaching you how to book shows and how to recruit.  Without both of these skills, it is very unlikely you will succeed.  But don’t worry… if you think you have no idea how to do these things, you are not alone!  Most women don’t, but they’re very easy to learn.

Lia Sophia is truly a great company.  This company has allowed me so many opportunities… time with my children, ability to pay off our debt, to dream and reach for the stars, to help other women experience the same success I’ve experienced and watch her dreams come true.  Without lia Sophia, I’m not sure where I’d be today.

If you have other questions regarding lia Sophia that I haven’t answered, please feel free to contact me either at the phone number below or through my personal lia Sophia website.  I’d love to add you to our growing team of women.  I’ll leave you with my favorite quote: “The biggest mistakes we make are the risks we don’t take.”
